Random Acts of Crochet Kindness
What is Random Acts of Crochet Kindness (RACK)?
So you’ve seen this title and wondered what it’s all about. I’ll try and give some explanation on this page. I should point out, this is obviously not my own idea. When I started crocheting I saw numerous Facebook posts and groups about it and thought it was a really lovely idea particularly in a point in time which seems to be particularly devoid of kindness. I loved the idea of someone speeding through life, as we do, and then finding a little package of joy to bring a smile to their face. So I thought I’d join in with the thousands of others joining in with the heartwarming concept.
I find different mini patterns that I can use my smaller amounts of yarn on each month, usually themed, make up a few, package them up with an explanation and then leave them around my area for people to find.
So far I’ve left them in trolleys at different shops, in parks, bushes etc while walking the dog and on tables of cafes as I was leaving. You can see below the different options I’ve made before and the packaging I leave them in.
While I haven’t heard back from all of them, I have received some messages back including the first one which was from a girl who had found one I left in a bush when walking my dog near our house. She had found it when walking her dog which was the same breed as our dog! It’s lovely when I get a message back telling me the little items did their job of spreading smiles and joy!
So I thought maybe people would like to join in with spreading a bit more kindness out to the world around them. So each month, I will post that month’s RACK’s (as I call them for short!) on the website for a small fee (all of which will be donated to a charity each month) and you can purchase some to send to a friend or family member to let them know you’re thinking of them or purchase the whole bundle and leave them around your local area.
Hopefully you’re excited to get involved so head over to the RACK product page and start spreading a little joy and kindness yourself!
